The only word that I can find to describe my knee pain was EXCRUCIATING

I could not walk, stand, climb stairs or sleep well at night.  I tried over the counter pain medications, and I even went to the orthopedic doctor and I had cortisone shots (and nothing helped).

Since completing knee treatments with Dr. Schnee,  I can do most anything I need to do with minimal  knee pain and some stiffness.

Mrs. Vicky N. from Irving, Texas completed Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program.  She gave us permission to use her unsolicited video and written testimonial to inform others about Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program as an alternative to injections, medications and knee surgery.

If you’re suffering from excruciating knee pain then Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program may be the answer to your problem.  Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program is considered a complete treatment system that combines low-level laser treatments (cold laser treatments), along with other non-invasive modalities that promote rehabilitation of the knee.

Every patient’s program is different depending on whether they suffer from arthritis knee pain, ‘bone on bone’ knee pain, meniscus tears, bursitis knee pain, tendonitis knee pain, a Baker’s Cyst, post surgical arthroscopic knee pain, or a combination of the listed conditions.  If you live in the Dallas – Fort Worth area call our office at 214- 596-1051 to find out if you’re a candidate for Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program.

Cold Laser Therapy Improves Pain, Function And Quality Of Life for Patients Suffering From Osteoarthritis Knee Pain!

By Dr Schnee · February 4, 2010 · Filed in Cold Laser Therapy, Knee Pain, Osteoarthritis · No Comments »

A double-blind, randomized, controlled trial was conducted in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) to evaluate the efficacy of low level laser therapy (cold laser therapy) as well as to  compare two different laser therapy regimes.

Ninety patients were randomly assigned to three treatment groups by one of the non treating authors by drawing 1 of 90 envelopes.  Each of the three groups consisted of 30 patients.  Group A received cold laser therapy and exercise. Group B received  a few more minutes of cold laser therapy  at a different  dose along with exercise.  Group C received placebo laser treatments and exercise.

Subjects, physician, and data analysts were unaware of the code for active or placebo laser until the data analysis was complete. All patients were evaluated with respect to pain, degree of active knee flexion, duration of morning stiffness, painless walking distance and duration, and the Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) at week 0, 6, 10, and 14.

The study found that there were statistically significant improvements indicated with respect to all parameters such as knee pain, function, and quality of life measures in the post-therapy period compared to pre-therapy in both groups that received active cold laser treatments. Improvements in all parameters of Group I, and in parameters, such as pain and WOMAC of Group II, were more statistically significant when compared with the placebo laser group.

If you are suffering from osteoarthritis knee pain and you’re searching for an effective, non invasive alternative to knee surgery then Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program may be the answer.  Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program provides a complete treatment program that combines low-level laser treatments (cold laser treatments), along with other non-invasive modalities that help promote rehabilitation of the knee.

Every patient’s program is customized depending on whether they suffer from knee pain due to arthritis, ‘bone on bone’ knee pain, pain frommeniscus tears, knee bursitis, knee tendonitis, a Baker’s Cyst, post surgical arthroscopic knee pain, or a combination of the listed conditions.  If you live in the Dallas – Fort Worth area call our office at 214- 596-1051 to find out if you’re a candidate for Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program.

Study:Arthroscopic Knee Surgery Provides Little Benefit-Try Conservative Knee Treatment First

By Dr Schnee · January 28, 2010 · Filed in Cold Laser Therapy, Osteoarthritis · No Comments »

According to leading Orthopedic Doctors in Israel, arthroscopic knee surgery is not an effective method for treating arthritis knee pain and conservative knee treatments should be performed first.  The following is excerpt is from a research study entitled, Osteoarthritis, the hazard of living longer: arthroscopy vs. conservative treatment.

“The lengthening of the average life span has led to an increase in degenerative diseases, among them osteoarthritis. Arthroscopy, which has been used extensively to decrease pain and inflammation and increase the range of motion, has recently been challenged as the treatment of choice… Since there is limited benefit to be gained from arthroscopy in cases where there is no mechanical damage to the knee, we suggest that nonsurgical, conservative methods be employed in treating the majority of cases of osteoarthritis.”

Start Eating Cherries, It May Help Ease Osteoarthritis Knee Pain

By Dr Schnee · January 12, 2010 · Filed in Health, Knee Pain, Osteoarthritis · No Comments »

The Baylor Research Institute conducted a 12 week pilot study on a total of 20 patients diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. The study involved patients taking the equivalent of 100 tart cherries crushed in a pill form daily. The study found that after 12 weeks between 50 and 60 percent of patients experienced relief by taking just one pill a day. A randomized trial will be completed in 2010 to validate the pilot study. If the results of this study show that the patients who took cherry pills improved then this will give patients another natural option for managing osteoarthritis knee pain. (1)

Vitamin D3: “The Next Cure-All Vitamin” for Joint Pain and Other Chronic Diseases

By Dr Schnee · January 11, 2010 · Filed in Health · No Comments »

If your doctor hasn’t discussed the benefits of Vitamin D3 with you the chances are he will in the near future. At one time no one knew about the benefits of Omega 3’s and fish oil. Now virtually every doctor recommends supplementing your diet with them. Similarly, vitamin D3 is becoming the next ‘cure all’ supplement that has the research to back it up.

For instance, research indicates that knowing your Vitamin D level may actually be more important at determining your overall health and long-term health problems than cholesterol. Low Vitamin D levels are associated with heart disease, high blood pressure, most cancers, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, autism, osteoporosis, autoimmune diseases, frequent infections, colds and flu (1, 2)

If you suffer with knee pain you may want to consider supplementing with vitamin D3 because low Vitamin D levels can also promote the expression of chronic pain. Research indicates that bone pain, joint pain, muscle pain, and fibromyalgia can be exacerbated if there are low levels of Vitamin D3. (3, 4).

The only way you can get vitamin D naturally is by getting adequate sun. Most of us don’t get enough sunshine therefore most of us are deficient in vitamin D. In addition, virtually no food contains Vitamin D3 except oily fish consumed in large quantities in the traditional Eskimo diet.

Your doctor can test you to find out your levels of Vitamin D3. The optimal range is between 40-60 ng/ml and most people who do not take Vitamin D3 are in the 10-30 ng/ml range. It takes about 2,000-4000 IUs to get the level of Vitamin D3 to 40 ng/ml.

Adding Vitamin D3 to your arsenal of supplements is a simple yet effective change you can make especially if you’re suffering from chronic knee and joint pain.

Knee Pain Success Story|Dallas-Fort Worth Cold Laser Therapy

By Dr Schnee · January 8, 2010 · Filed in Cold Laser Therapy, Testimonial · No Comments »

“The pain (before undergoing cold laser treatments) was steady and very bothersome in my right knee. The pain often prevented me from sleeping very well. I would wake up many times at night, and in the morning I could barely move around. I was unable to walk without a great deal of (knee) pain. Walking was very slow and painful. I could not go up or down stairs. I could not walk downhill or down a ramp without a great deal of difficulty. I went to the orthopedic surgeon that did arthroscopic surgery on my knee 5 years ago. He gave me a steroid injection, but it never really helped relieve the (knee) pain. The arthroscopic surgery removed some of my cartilage…, and my orthopedic surgeon told me I would probably need to have knee replacement surgery in the long term. I do not want to do that. (That’s when I started treatments with Dr. Schnee).

I believe that the cold laser treatments and (Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Program) were a great alternative to the joint replacement surgery. I can walk up stairs much better now. (I can sleep at night without pain) I am very pleased with the reduction in my pain level. I would say my overall improvement is in the 75%-80% range. My knee is also much more flexible than before (treatments). I believe that following the exercise plan (that Dr. Schnee gave me my knee) will improve even more.”

Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program combines Dr. Schnee’s specialized cold laser treatment protocols,  non-weight bearing exercises (so that you don’t do more damage to the knee joint), multiple cold lasers, and other non-invasive therapies so can enjoy life again!
