“Before Dr. Schnee’s treatments my knee was in constant pain. I had sharp, stabbing pain while going up and down stairs. I also had intense pain after I went on long walks. I had three arthroscopic knee surgeries [but they didn’t help]. I am very pleased with Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Program my knee feels 90% better than it did, and I have no pain at all except when placing my knee in a ‘twisting bind’.” Bone on Bone Knee Pain, Arthritis
Carmen S. from Irving, TX wrote the following:
“My knee pain was unbearable and very limiting. At times I could not kneel down, walk very far or even work for eight hours. I did not want knee surgery that is why I chose this treatment. After completing Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program sleep is now a part of my life!! Climbing stairs is easier and simple things like just going out for the evening [are easier on my knee]. I am very pleased with the treatments and I would say my knee is 80-85% improved.”

National Institutes of Health: Proper Knee Alignment May Prevent Arthritis Knee Pain
The National Institutes of Health recently conducted a research study on knee alignment and how it affects the knee joint. A research team followed 2,713 volunteers from Birmingham and Iowa City. The volunteers were between the ages of 50-79. All of them either had arthritis in their knees or they were considered at high risk for developing arthritis because they were either overweight, had a previous knee injury, or had undergone previous knee surgery.
First, X-rays were taken and knee alignment was measured. The alignment was measured and the angle was noted at the point the femur (upper leg) and tibia (lower leg) intersected at the knee joint. Anything more or less than a 2 degree difference from the normal 180 degree was noted. X-rays and measurements were taken again 2 years later.
The research team discovered that in volunteers whose knee alignment measured a 2 degree difference (more or less) there was a 1.5 times greater risk for developing arthritis compared to those with a normal (180 degree) alignment.
In a healthy knee 70% of all the force is placed on the medial aspect of the knee (inside). If the knee joint is out of alignment the stress on the inside of the knee increases which in turn wears down the inside of the knee at a faster rate. The NIH research team concluded that if a misaligned knee is corrected early on arthritis could be prevented.
To correct poor alignment of the knee visit a chiropractor, and wear good shoes that provide proper support. An orthotic may be necessary if you are flat footed or if you have too high of an arch. In addition, a chiropractor who specializes in the knee joint can give you proper exercises to strengthen and provide support for proper knee alignment.
If you suffer from severe arthritic knee pain and are tired of taking pain medications, getting knee injections, and you don’t want knee surgery; then call Dr. Schnee at 214-596-1051 to find out if you’re a candidate for her Cold Laser Knee Program.

Fort Worth Cold Laser Patient No Longer Needs Pain Pills for Knee Pain
“
The pain before completing Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program was enough that I needed to take 6-8 acetaminophens daily to work and sleep. Every time I bent my knees they would lock up. My knees were very painful in colder weather below 50 degrees F. I didn’t feel like exercising.
I had not had surgery to my knees. I was told by a surgeon five years ago to lessen my knee impact and a year before retirement he suggested I get both of my knees replaced.
Since completing Dr. Schnee’s Program I am very pleased. For the first time in a long time, I am not on a continual diet of over the counter pain pills. Everyone at the office has been most helpful, kind and friendly. My improvement is allowing me to be very mobile without experiencing knee pain. I would say my knees have improved 70-75%. I understand that I won’t be able to do things a younger man does, but I can be mobile and exercise again. Thanks!”

The Food You’re Eating May Be Making Your Knee Pain Worse
The foods you’re eating may actually be contributing to your chronic knee pain. The foods that cause inflammation and can often lead to chronic knee pain include refined sugar, refined grains, and flour products (bread, pasta, bagels, etc.), refined oils and red meat. These types of foods make up approximately 80% of the average American’s caloric intake. Even eating only 30-40% of calories from these foods is too much. A diet comprised of these types of foods creates inflammation that will affect the knee joint and surrounding muscles causing and promoting further knee pain and suffering.
An anti-inflammatory diet is one you should consider if you’re suffering with swelling and chronic knee pain (especially from arthritis). An anti-inflammatory diet consists primarily of vegetables, fruit, raw nuts, and healthy proteins such as lean meat, skinless chicken, fresh fish and eggs. In addition, a little bit of dark chocolate and red wine in moderation are also anti-inflammatory in nature. The best oils to use include olive oil, coconut oil, and real butter. A very popular oil supplement that should be taken daily is fish oil that contains omega-3 fatty acids, which is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Spicing your meals can also add a substantial anti-inflammatory boost. For instance, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, oregano, garlic, coriander, have been proven to be anti-inflammatory in nature. For instance supplementing with ginger was discovered to reduce chronic joint and muscle pain.
In summary, the food you’re eating may be exacerbating your knee pain so you may want to consider changing your diet as a natural way to help reduce swelling and pain in your knees.
If you are suffering with chronic knee pain, in addition to changing your diet you may want to consider undergoing Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program, which is considered to be a safe, effective, painless alternative to knee surgery, harmful medications and shots.

How Effective Are Knee Replacements? Patients Tell All
A survey conducted in February 2006 by the Consumer Reports National Research Center telephoned patients who had a hip and knee replacement and asked them about their experience. The result of the survey found that the surgery had serious complications and it did not return patients to the state of perfect mobility. It was also discovered that while most people stopped taking their pain medication after 2 months, 12% were still taking it after 1 year. And one quarter of the knee patients said they still could not perform the more challenging tasks of walking a half-mile as late as 1 year after the knee replacement surgery. Five percent reported getting an infection after surgery. Thirteen percent suffered a seriously weakened or contracted muscle that in some cases needed additional surgery to correct. Seven percent ended up with legs of unequal length, and 5% of all patients required another operation to correct problems caused by the first one.
Of course, sometimes knee replacement surgery is the only option. But today, surgery has too often become a risky alternative especially since large studies have demonstrated that 40% patients with signs of osteoarthritis of the knee on x-ray have been satisfied with conservative treatment.
Knee replacements last 10-20 years depending on the prosthetic used, and if you have to get it redone a second time- it isn’t very pleasant.
Ask just about anyone who has had one knee replaced and they will tell you the rehabilitation is excruciating.
I had my left knee replaced 5 years ago, and I really did not want to do that again. The Orthopedic doctor suggested that I get surgery on my other knee. That’s when I came to see Dr. Schnee …she explained the (Cold Laser Knee) program to me and I got started with care. I thank God everyday that I did. What a blessing.
Don M., Ovilla, TX
