Knee Pain at Night? Cold Laser Dallas Knee Pain Treatment Offers Relief
Knee Pain At Night? Cold Laser Dallas Knee Pain Treatment Offers Relief
Is knee pain keeping you awake at night? Are you unable to sleep at night because your knees ache?
The most common knee condition that causes knee pain at night and disrupts sleep is a meniscus tear in the knee.
A Meniscus Tear…
The meniscus is the rubbery cartilage like material that sits between the shin bone and the thigh bone. There are two menisci one on the inner part of the knee (medial meniscus) and the other is on the outer part of the knee (or the lateral meniscus). The medial meniscus tears more commonly then the lateral meniscus. A meniscus tear can be caused from an injury or arthritis in the knee. Unfortunately, most individuals in the acute stage of a meniscus tear will experience knee pain at night.
Prior to undergoing (Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Dallas Knee Pain Treatment Program), Mary L. was diagnosed with a meniscus tear and experienced constant knee pain day and night. This is her story:
“I had constant knee pain day and night that required pain killers every day. I couldn’t kneel at church, sleep at night or go shopping or clean house. I had arthroscopic knee surgery but it didn’t help me so the surgeon recommended a total knee replacement. Since completing knee pain treatments with Dr. Schnee, I can sleep with hardly any pain, and kneel at church. I am very pleased with my overall percentage of improvement- which is 80%.”
Arthritis and ‘Bone on Bone’ Knee Pain
The other knee condition that can prevent you from getting a restful night’s sleep is severe arthritis knee pain or ‘bone on bone knee pain.’
Knee pain from severe arthritis knee pain or ‘bone on bone knee pain’ is a direct result of the lining of the bone or synovium becoming irritated. The synovium has trillions of sensitive nerve endings when it gets inflamed or irritated an individual will experience knee pain- especially at night.
Paul B. had a similar story to Mary’s but instead of a meniscus tear he was diagnosed with ‘bone on bone knee pain’. This is his story:
“The pain in my left knee would wake me up at night. I had pain in my left knee when walking or climbing stairs. I tried physical therapy and over the counter medications. I had one cortisone shot and it lasted about one month. Since completing Dr. Schnee’s knee pain treatment program I can stand longer without experiencing knee pain and I can walk better. I can sleep at night without knee pain waking me up. I can go up and down stairs better. I am very pleased with my overall experience and results. I wish that I had known about Dr. Schnee’s cold laser therapy program before my knees got so bad. I would say my overall improvement is 60-70% in my left knee and 70-80% in my right knee.”
Meniscus tears and bone on bone knee pain are the two most common conditions that can cause knee pain at night; however, there are other knee conditions that can disrupt your sleep (they’re just not as common).

Resident from Dallas, TX No Longer Experiences Knee Pain At Night!
On a scale from 0-10 my knee was an 8 on a pain scale. I could barely walk. I could barely bend my knees to step up or down or off a curb. I could not get on my knees. The pain kept me from sleeping comfortably. I wore an ACE knee brace to get relief and I took Ibuprofen. I also rubbed my knees with Aspercreme. Since completing Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program I can walk without the stiffness in my knees. I can bend my knees. I can step up and down on stairs, and I can sleep at night. I am pleased with the results. The cold laser treatments and knee therapy helped reduce the swelling and pain. Sandra M., Dallas, Texas
Dallas Texas Resident No Longer Has Burning Knee Pain!
My knee pain was severe and constant. Walking for extended periods of time, sleeping at night, sitting for any length of time and getting out of a tub would all cause knee pain. I had physical therapy and I did home exercises for my knee which did not give me any relief. I also had gone to a chiropractor and had adjustments. I was told by four different orthopedic doctors to have knee surgery. Since completing Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program the burning has subsided (stopped) and I am sleeping without pain. I am not limping as much anymore, and I can even stand for a longer period of time. Even a casual acquaintance told me I seemed to be walking better. Nina C. Dallas, Texas

Muscle Pain Causing Your Knee Pain? Try Eating Ginger
If you’ve never eaten raw ginger you may want to start. A new study reported in The Journal of Pain, published by the American Pain Society states that taking daily doses of heat-treated or raw ginger helps relieve muscle pain by nearly 25%. Past research has shown that ginger may have anti-inflammatory and pain relieving or analgesic properties similar to NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories). So researchers from the University of Georgia and Georgia College and State University examined the effectiveness of ginger on 74 volunteers. These volunteers were divided into three groups and were either given raw ginger, heated ginger, or placebo. The volunteers were given ginger for 11 consecutive days after they completed 18 eccentric muscle exercises that induced muscle pain.
The results of the study indicated that the raw ginger lowered the muscle pain intensity by 25% and the heat treated ginger lowered it by 23%. The report did not indicate the amount of ginger given to the volunteers during this study.

Find Out How To Choose The Right ‘Cold Laser Doctor’ To Treat Knee Pain
No matter what a doctors degree of medical competence is a thorough understanding of cold laser therapy is needed in order to achieve successful results with a laser. Any licensed health care provider can own cold laser equipment but that does not make them proficient in its use. I get daily phone calls and e-mails from patients who live out of state asking me to recommend a doctor in their area who is proficient with cold laser therapy AND is proficient with treating knee pain. Unfortunately, I have no idea who to refer them too because I’m not familiar with out of state cold laser doctors.
The bottom line is if you’re looking for a doctor who uses cold laser therapy for knee pain make sure that this is their specialty. For example, you wouldn’t go to an orthopedic surgeon to operate on your knee if they specialized in the shoulder joint.
Again, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of doctors who advertise that they use cold lasers in their practice. BUT do they treat all sorts of conditions and joints or do they focus solely on knee problems? And are cold lasers an integral part of their practice or just one of the many therapeutic treatments they use in practice?
Please note a Cold laser treatment in inexperienced hands is just as effective as not getting a cold laser treatment at all…
Since 2001, Dr. Alexandra K. Schnee, D.C. has solely been using cold lasers in her practice to treat patients suffering from knee pain. Her mission is to help patients experience knee pain relief and improve their quality of life so that they can avoid taking unnecessary medications, knee injections, and hopefully avoid undergoing knee surgery. Patients travel from all over the DFW Metroplex, as well as from surrounding states and other countries to get treated by Dr. Schnee. Her experience with non-surgical cold laser therapy and treating knee pain problems is unsurpassed.

Find The Right Cold Laser Doctor For Your Knee Pain | Dallas-Fort Worth
Dr.Schnee,D.C.explains ways to choose the right Cold Laser Doctor for your Knee Pain and why not all Cold Laser Doctors Treat the Knee. Dallas-Ft.Worth.
Why Hasn’t My Doctor Told Me About Cold Laser Therapy?
That’s a good question. I don’t know why YOUR knee doctor hasn’t shared the benefits of cold laser therapy with you, but I think I know the answer… First, let me just state that our office gets daily referrals from orthopedists, internal medicine doctors, rheumatologists, pain management doctors and primary care physicians.
Most physicians understand that not all patients want, need or respond well to surgery, injections or pain medications. Physicians refer patients to our office to undergo our Cold Laser Knee Program because it is considered safe, and effective, and it’s definitely worth trying if other knee treatments have failed, and before any further knee surgery is recommended or performed.
Now let me get back to answering the question.
There are two obvious reasons why your doctor hasn’t told you about cold laser treatments.
The first and most obvious reason is that they are probably unaware of the technology. Even though there are an increasing number of doctors using cold lasers, and are becoming more educated about the benefits of the treatment there are still many more physicians that do not know about it.
The other reason your doctor may not have told you about the treatment is because they are narrow minded, and they just don’t want to change their method of treatment. These doctors are skeptical about everything except for the techniques they use. It doesn’t matter what overwhelming evidence you provide them they still consider everything other than ‘conventional medicine’ a sham. (Ironically, ‘conventional medicine’, for example, prescription medication and surgery was ranked one of the leading causes of death by the CDC. In my opinion, ‘narrow minded’ physicians are one of the reasons why the U.S. is only ranked 37th in health care by the World Health Organization.) I wonder sometimes if this group of physicians is truly acting on behalf of the patient or only looking out for themselves. After all, if your knee pain significantly improves or is eliminated after completing our Cold Laser Knee Program then why would you go back to the surgeon?
The bottom line is…if you’ve tried medications, knee injections and/or knee surgery and those options haven’t helped you than don’t wait for your knee to get worse. Your quality of life doesn’t have to suffer just because you orthopedic doctor hasn’t referred you for or told you about cold laser treatments.
If you are still suffering from knee pain, and have tried everything don’t feel hopeless! Dr. Schnee may be able to help you. If you have knee pain due to cartilage loss, ‘bone on bone’, or osteoarthritis of the knee and you want to avoid a total knee replacement or you cannot undergo a total knee replacement due to other health problems then Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program may be the answer to your knee problem.
Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program is considered a complete treatment program that combines low-level laser treatments (cold laser treatments, cold laser therapy), and other modalities that promote rehabilitation of the knee. Why Doctors Do Not Mention Cold Laser Therapy for Treating Knee Pain | Dallas-Fort Worth
Irving Cold Laser Therapy Doctor explains why some doctors may not mention cold laser therapy as an option for treating knee pain Dallas-Ft Worth.
Study Proves If Your Over Forty Your Knee Will Be Worse Off After Undergoing Arthroscopic Knee Surgery
Forty-nine patients who were more than forty years old when medial meniscectomy (arthroscopic surgery to remove the medial meniscus due to a tear) was performed returned for follow-up evaluation one to twelve years postoperatively. Pain was present in 62.2 % of patients who underwent knee surgery to ‘clean out’ degenerative tears (tears due to arthritis), and in 75% of those who underwent surgery to ‘clean out’ traumatic tears (tears due to a knee injury).
The medial (inner) joint space was significantly thinner in patients who had knee surgery to clean out degenerative tears versus those with traumatic tears.
The x-ray findings of osteoarthritis were significantly more severe on the side operated on.
The angle of the knee was relatively more ‘bow legged’ on the surgically treated knee (mean, 5.3 degrees) versus the knee that did not undergo knee surgery.
In conclusion, before committing to undergoing knee surgery make sure you try all conservative knee treatment options first! Numerous reputable, long-term studies indicate that knee surgery does NOT fix the problem and in many cases it promotes more arthritis knee changes and knee pain. Please search for other alternatives to treating your knee pain before undergoing knee surgery. Laser Therapy More Effective Than Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Not as Effective as Laser Therapy | Knee Pain Relief Dallas-Fort Worth
A research group from Norway, headed by Dr. Jan M. Bjordal, and published in the British Medical Journal summarizes that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), including cyclo-oxygenase-2 inhibitors, reduce short-term pain associated with knee osteoarthritis only slightly better than a placebo.(1)
The findings from a recent Norwegian Health Technology Assessment Report stated that low- laser therapy (cold laser) was actually twice as effective as NSAIDs, if applied correctly with optimal dose and energy. According to the Norwegian Drug Agency, low- laser therapy has earned a top spot in treatment recommendations for patients suffering with osteoarthritis knee pain, due to the unequivocal scientific findings so far, and lasers effectiveness for treating knee pain.
Long term NSAID use is harmful, should be avoided, and is ineffective for osteoarthritis knee pain. If you want relief from arthritis knee pain that is safe, has no side-effects, and is painless then call our office at 214-596-1051 to find out about our Cold Laser Therapy Knee Program.
