Injured Muscles Heal Faster With Cold Laser Therapy
Scientists in Brazil evaluated the effects of cold laser therapy on traumatic muscle injuries in rats. The injury was done by single-blunt injury to the gastrocnemius muscle (calf muscle). Scientists separated the rats into three groups. Group I was the control group (uninjured and untreated). Group II was injured but did not receive cold laser treatments. Group III was injured and received cold laser treatments. The results showed that after 5 days of cold laser treatments on Group III the activities of complex II and succinate dehydrogenase increased when compared to the control group. Moreover, the results indicated that cold laser treatments on the injured rats significantly increased the activities of complexes I, II, III, IV and succinate dehydrogenase, when compared to the group of injured rats that did not receive treatments.
The research showed that cold laser therapy increases mitochondrial ATP synthesis which in turn accelerates the muscle healing process.

Before Finding Dr. Schnee He Contemplated Undergoing a Total Knee Replacement
“
Before starting Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program I had constant pain in the right knee when standing, walking or sleeping at night. My knees also felt very unstable when I walked. I tried medications, injections and arthroscopic knee surgery but none of those things helped. I already had undergone a total knee replacement on my left knee so I was contemplating knee replacement for my right knee when I found Dr. Schnee.
I am so glad that I did Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program. My right knee is now 75-80% better then it was before doing knee treatments. I can now walk, stand and sleep through the night without much pain. I am NOT contemplating a total knee replacement anymore.”
C.D., Dallas, TX
Patient mailed this unsolicited testimonial two months after he completed care in our office.
Doctors Note: After examining Mr. D and taking x-rays of his right knee I diagnosed him with severe degenerative arthritis at the medial aspect (inside part of the knee-where the knees touch) of his knee joint. He initially came in complaining of severe knee pain along with moderate swelling and stiffness. He was unable to sleep through the night due to the pain in his knee. He could hardly work because he had a difficult time standing and walking for any length of time. After he completed knee treatments he is now able to sleep through the night without waking up from knee pain. He is now able to work because he can stand and walk with very mild pain. He does not feel that a total knee replacement is necessary at this time.

Could Knee Exercises Be Making Your Knee Pain Worse?
Most individuals suffering from a meniscus tear, cartilage loss, severe knee arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, or a baker’s cyst in the knee find it impossible to exercise without experiencing knee pain. ‘No pain, no gain’ should not be the motto when it comes to exercising if you have been diagnosed with a knee problem.
Knee exercises should only be performed if the soft tissue in and around your knee joint are not damaged. If you have been diagnosed with a meniscus tear, tendonitis, bursitis or a baker’s cyst you WILL MAKE THE PROBLEM WORSE BY EXERCISING. In addition, if you’ve been diagnosed with ‘bone on bone’ or severe arthritis then there is a 60% chance that you will tear the meniscus or remaining cartilage in your knee if you exercise or do anything that stresses the knee joint. The reason for this is that the cartilage/meniscus in an arthritic knee is drier and more brittle and tears easier than the cartilage in a healthy knee.
Again, exercise should only be performed once the muscles, ligaments, cartilage, tendons, and meniscus in the knee are healed and repaired; otherwise, exercise will only compound the problem and cause further damage to the joint. Once the tissues in and around the joint have been treated properly then the FINAL STEP is to rehabilitate the muscles around the joint by exercising. Otherwise, if you don’t treat what is causing your knee pain exercise will only COMPOUND THE PROBLEM AND FURTHER DAMAGE THE KNEE JOINT and the muscles around the joint will NEVER get stronger.
If you want your knee to get treated but do not want to undergo knee surgery then consider Dr.Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program. Most professional athletes undergo a series of cold laser treatments in combination with other modalities to get them back in the game quicker because it helps them avoid often career ending surgeries.
Cold laser therapy help reduce/eliminate pain and inflammation, repair and heal damaged/ irritated tissue. In addition, Cold Laser therapy helps speed up the healing process so that you can get back to exercising again, safely and without side-effects. Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program is considered a complete treatment for knee pain that combines low-level laser treatments (cold laser treatments), non-weight bearing exercises, and other modalities that promote rehabilitation of the knee. Every patient’s program is unique depending on whether they suffer from arthritis, ‘bone on bone’, meniscus tears, bursitis, tendonitis, Baker’s Cyst, post surgical arthroscopic knee pain, or a combination of the listed conditions.
If you can’t exercise because you are suffering from knee pain due to cartilage loss, ‘bone on bone’, or osteoarthritis of the knee and you want to avoid knee surgery then Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program may be the answer to your knee problem. If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area call our office at 214- 596-1051 to find out if you’re a candidate for Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program.

What Alternatives Are Available When You’ve Already Tried Everything To Get Rid Of Your Knee Pain?
What are your options when you’ve been suffering with severe knee pain for years, and you’ve already tried everything to get rid of the pain for instance knee injections (cortisone and/ or gel injections), prescription/ over the counter medications, and/or have had arthroscopic knee surgery and your knee is not any better?
The following is a list of your treatment options:
Do any of these sound familiar to you?
A) Live with the pain. (Obviously, this is not something you want to hear when you’re dealing with pain.)
B) Get a partial or total knee replacement. (Definitely NOT a good first option, and should always be the final step after all conservative measures have been exhausted.)
C) Try more of the same things that didn’t get your knee better the first time around. (for example: medications, knee surgery and knee injections.)
In my opinion, C) shouldn’t even be an option. I have never understood why someone would allow an orthopedic surgeon to perform arthroscopic knee surgery for a second time or undergo another round of knee injections if they weren’t successful the first time around.
D) Exercise.
Exercising the muscles around the knee joint is a crucial part of recovery. However, it is only one step in the recovery process, and normally it is the last step. Even though patients are often told to exercise it is usually impossible for someone suffering with severe knee pain. If you are experiencing knee pain while exercising STOP BECAUSE YOU COULD BE CREATING MORE DAMAGE TO THE KNEE JOINT.
E) Cold Laser Therapy for knee pain.
In my opinion this is one of the best treatment options for patients suffering from knee pain.
Cold laser therapy is considered safe and effective. There is over 40 years of research proving its effectiveness in treating joint, and soft tissue ailments. Cold lasers are used to help reduce/eliminate knee pain and inflammation, repair and heal damaged tissues in and around the knee joint, and speed up the healing process. Cold laser therapy allows you to get back to living your life pain-free again; many times without the need for further medications, knee injections or knee surgery.
If you’ve already exhausted all of your options and don’t want a knee replacement then call our office. You’ll be glad you did. The only thing you’ll regret is not calling us sooner.

Reduce Inflammation and Increase Joint Mobility with Cold Laser Therapy!
A recent study was conducted to determine the effects of low-level lasers (cold laser therapy) on inflammation and reduced joint mobility due to knee arthritis. In the study, rats were injected in the knee joint with Zymosan, a solution that induces arthritis and creates an inflammatory response. The knee joint was then treated with low-level laser therapy (cold laser therapy) for one hour immediately after the injection was administered.
The results indicate that cold lasers significantly inhibit edema formation (or swelling) by 24% and increase knee joint mobility by 59%.
If you are suffering with knee pain due to arthritis then Dr. Schnee’s Cold Laser Knee Program is considered a complete treatment plan for the treatment of knee pain that combines low-level laser treatments (cold laser treatments, cold laser therapy), non-weight bearing knee exercises, and other modalities that promote rehabilitation of the knee.

You Don’t Have to Live With Knee Pain
“Call me when you’re ready to get your knee replaced. Until then there’s nothing more I can do. You’ll have to live with the pain.”
Obviously, this is not something you want to hear when you’re dealing with severe knee pain.
But unfortunately this may sound familiar to many of you dealing with knee pain for years.
Should you be made to suffer just because you don’t want your knee replaced? What if you’re never ready to get your knee replaced?
I believe no one should have to live with knee pain. I also believe that your knee doctor should offer you EVERY option available (including cold laser therapy), and it should be your decision to choose the best option for you.
Your quality of life shouldn’t be reduced to nothing just because you don’t want to undergo a knee replacement. I have treated hundreds of patients with knee pain and almost every one of them has told me that they would have started our Cold Laser Knee Program sooner IF THEY HAD JUST KNOWN ABOUT THE TREATMENTS. There are a handful of knee surgeons that won’t tell you about non-invasive solutions only because that would mean you wouldn’t need to go back to them for medications, knee injections or knee surgery. The bottom line is business would be taken away from them.
I believe a knee replacement should only be performed after all conservative measures have been exhausted, including cold laser treatments. Once a partial or total knee replacement is performed there is no ‘turning back’. Good or bad you’re stuck with the results.
I’ve been treating patients since 2001 and our Cold Laser Knee Program has never hurt or killed anyone. Cold laser treatments won’t harm you in anyway. Death, blood clots, infections and rashes are possible side effects with surgery, medications, and injections NOT Cold laser treatments. As a matter of fact, there are NO side effects with treatments (except maybe mild soreness after the first treatment that goes away with an ice pack). If you’re one of the 8 out of 10* that are helped and experience pain relief with treatments, and are able to avoid knee surgery then it’s certainly worth trying our program.
So instead of living with knee pain and waiting for it to become so severe that it forces you to become wheelchair bound…BE PROACTIVE. Call my office today at 214-596-1051 and find out if you’re a candidate for our Cold Laser Knee Program. Get the relief you want and the quality of life you desire without knee surgery!

Find Out How To Choose The Right ‘Cold Laser Doctor’ To Treat Knee Pain
No matter what a doctors degree of medical competence is a thorough understanding of cold laser therapy is needed in order to achieve successful results with a laser. Any licensed health care provider can own cold laser equipment but that does not make them proficient in its use. I get daily phone calls and e-mails from patients who live out of state asking me to recommend a doctor in their area who is proficient with cold laser therapy AND is proficient with treating knee pain. Unfortunately, I have no idea who to refer them too because I’m not familiar with out of state cold laser doctors.
The bottom line is if you’re looking for a doctor who uses cold laser therapy for knee pain make sure that this is their specialty. For example, you wouldn’t go to an orthopedic surgeon to operate on your knee if they specialized in the shoulder joint.
Again, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of doctors who advertise that they use cold lasers in their practice. BUT do they treat all sorts of conditions and joints or do they focus solely on knee problems? And are cold lasers an integral part of their practice or just one of the many therapeutic treatments they use in practice?
Please note a Cold laser treatment in inexperienced hands is just as effective as not getting a cold laser treatment at all…
Since 2001, Dr. Alexandra K. Schnee, D.C. has solely been using cold lasers in her practice to treat patients suffering from knee pain. Her mission is to help patients experience knee pain relief and improve their quality of life so that they can avoid taking unnecessary medications, knee injections, and hopefully avoid undergoing knee surgery. Patients travel from all over the DFW Metroplex, as well as from surrounding states and other countries to get treated by Dr. Schnee. Her experience with non-surgical cold laser therapy and treating knee pain problems is unsurpassed.
